About Solid Brass

Solid Brass was formed in 2002 when a group of like minded musicians came together to perform in a number of charity concerts, which has since provided the basis for the musical development of the quintet. Solid Brass are now fortunate to have the opportunity to perform on a regular basis in the South Wales area, for a variety of different events from, Educational Workshops, to Weddings, Black Tie events and Choir Concerts.

The quintet as a group consists of a relatively unusual brass set up, of 2 Trumpets, Horn, Trombone and Bass Trombone. We feel this gives the quintet a unique and versatile sound, allowing for the performance of a wide variety of musical styles. The baroque and classical styles enhance the ambience of the brass timbres, whilst the more upbeat jazzy and pop genres match the musical personalities of the quintet, giving an exciting and energetic atmosphere..
